My opinion of this doctor is 5 stars! he knows his stuff. I have a complicated back and he knew exactly what he would do and the most conservative way. He showed everything to me thoroughly on the computer. I have been to other dr's that did not have a computer even in the room to show me anything. He said surgery would be in 5 week... my issue is it has already been 3 weeks and no one has even called to scheduled me for the surgery yet. It will still take time to authorize it thru the insurance, so this is throwing everything behind now. Why does it take so long to schedule someone? I feel like I'm lost in the system now because the scheduler was out the day I was at his office. I've called left messages other people have sent messages and still nothing. I've had other appts and they usually schedule you the same day right after you see the surgeon! This is confusing to me. I hope this is not what I am in for

Dr Matheus is very good at explaining the medical problem and the options for treatment. He is empathetic and doesn't push you into making decisions right away. I trust him, his knowledge, and his abilities.

Dr Matheus and staff were great, very professional and understanding. He was spot on with his diagnosis and explainations along with future care that would be needed to help patient. I highly recommend him and staff too care for anyone's problems that he specializes in. You would be in good hands

The experience was the most comforting and relaxing situation that I experienced since I first began to be in pain. The conversation about what he wants to do was very reassuring. I'd been to 2 other doctors before coming here. The impression that they gave me was that they wanted to completely modify my back. Dr.Matheus suggested a very conservative approach which would require relatively minor surgery in comparison. This was very much appreciated.

Both the support staff in the office and Dr. Virgilio Matheus gave me very good attention. Dr. Matheus was very clear in explaining my medical situation and gave me several options to follow. He demonstrates not only a high level of knowledge and experience but also a high human quality. He met my expectations as a doctor and answered all my questions. For all this I recommend him as an excellent doctor and human being.

The doctor is very detailed on explaining everything. He also gives other options before discussing surgery, so he’s definitely working to find your best alternatives to surgery first.

Dr. Matheus did my back surgery three years ago this coming December 14. He placed two rods and six screws and three new discs into my lower lumbar part of my back. I have to report after three years, I can do everything that I couldn’t do before. I don’t have any pain, my sciatica was out of control before, and I thought his staff was excellent. I would like to thank him very much for what he did for me. I am very grateful!!!
